Andrew Bowen

Andrew Bowen is the City of Charlotte’s Innovation & Data Officer, overseeing the Innovation & Data division and Smart Cities initiatives. He and his team provide data management, data analysis and data visualization services to departments. The team drives collaborative problem solving with data to projects to improve services, inform decisions, and promote community engagement. Andrew has worked at the City with data and analytics for nine years and he holds a Master’s in Urban and Regional Analysis from UNC Charlotte’s Geography Program. Andrew, a Charlotte native, lives on the east side with his wife, son, and two dogs, and is a recently-retired US National Whitewater Center raft guide.
